About 250 million years ago, the Japanese archipelago, including the Oki Islands, was part of a continent called Pangea. The proof is "Oki gneiss". It can be seen at Choshi Dam.

Saigo Misaki Lighthouse celebrated its 100th anniversary on March 31, 2021 (Reiwa 3). It seems that the first domestically produced 4th class double lens is still in active use. We are still watching over the safety of the sea as a guide for ships going to and from Saigo Port.
